Our Green tier will recognise and reward our members who make sustainable choices at home and when they travel.
How to reach Green tier status
To achieve Green tier status, members will need to complete at least five sustainable activities across six categories in their membership year.
The six categories of activities are:
Flying
Travel
Lifestyle
Sustainable purchases
Reducing impact
Giving back.
Once achieved, you’ll be rewarded with benefits like bonus Qantas Points or status credits. These benefits will be in addition to the rewards you get under your existing flying status or as part of Points Club.
Fly Carbon Neutral
Qantas has been offsetting carbon pollution for more than a decade - our offsetting program is the largest of any airline. Carbon offsetting is a key tool in aviation’s global transition to a low carbon economy, and in meeting our commitments of capping emissions at 2020 levels and reaching net zero emissions by 2050.
Since 2007, Qantas has offset its own ground and corporate travel emissions. Through our Fly Carbon Neutral Program, a Qantas customer offsets their flight every 59 seconds.
In 2019, we launched the biggest changes to the Fly Carbon Neutral since its inception a decade ago. Qantas Frequent Flyer and Qantas Business Rewards customers now earn 10 Qantas Points for every dollar spent on offsetting, and Qantas is matching dollar for dollar every contribution a customer makes to offset their emissions on a passenger flight, effectively doubling the program.

G ADVENTURES & THE PLANETERRA FOUNDATION
Established in 2003, by global adventure travel company G Adventures’ Founder, Bruce Poon Tip, Planeterra Foundation is a non-profit organization that has contributed millions of dollars towards projects in areas of social enterprise, healthcare, conservation, and emergency response.
The program is dedicated to ensuring communities touched by tourism benefit from the opportunities it provides. Planeterra helps empower local people to develop their communities, conserve their cultures, and create humane and supportive systems for their endeavours. Planeterra manages over 50 social enterprises on all seven continents, that benefit women, at-risk youth, and rural and indigenous communities.

This is why in 2000 we developed our award winning Responsible Travel Guidebook which presented our comprehensive policies on sustainable travel. Over the years our Responsible Travel Guidebook has evolved to meet the ever-changing landscape of sustainable travel.
In its newest version it is known as The Thoughtful Traveller booklet, an easy to read document that empowers travellers with ideas on how they can be part of the solution and collectively make the world a better place when they travel.
